In honor of National Women's Health Week, Dr. Gregory Root, an OB/GYN at INTEGRIS Canadian Valley Hospital, explores sensitive topics in a series of short, informative videos.

Today's video focuses on robotic hysterectomy. Dr. Root is a fan because there is much less loss of blood, less recovery time is needed, and you can go home from the hospital the same day as your surgery. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to watch the video.

Gregory P. Root, D.O., is an obstetrician and gynecologist specializing in women’s health at INTEGRIS Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon, Oklahoma. Dr. Root graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences from Oklahoma State University and went on to receive his doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences.
Upon graduation of medical school, Dr. Root completed a highly competitive academically focused medical residency in obstetrics and gynecology from Oklahoma State University Medical Center and St. Francis Hospital. Dr. Root has been extensively trained in minimally invasive robotic surgery, high-risk pregnancy and reproductive endocrinology.
"From a young age I developed a very strong desire to serve others. In my opinion, every patient deserves a physician who is willing to go the extra mile to ensure excellent health care. I work diligently to make every woman feel comfortable."
