There’s a lot we can do to help you recover from stroke, but with the cutting-edge technology available to you today at INTEGRIS Health, we can make greater strides than ever before. To augment the human side of recovery, we also offer the latest advances in rehabilitation technology:

• Armeo®Spring: A hand and arm retraining and rehabilitation system that provides arm weight support and real-time feedback through on-screen games and activities. The Armeo®Spring enables patients to use any remaining motor functions and encourages them to achieve a higher number of reach and grasp movements based on specific therapy goals.
• Mobility Center: Jim Thorpe’s Mobility Center uses a variety of different state-of-the-art technologies to help you regain your ability to walk.
  • Lokomat®: Robotic assisted walking therapy that uses computerized legs, harness, and treadmill. It promotes a natural walking pattern with multiple adjustments for pace and assistance level.
  • EKSO™: A robotic exoskeleton walking device that allows an individual with no strength or limited strength to stand and walk. This is instrumental in improving balance, weight bearing and strength.
  • LiteGait: A partial weight-bearing walking device.
• Aquatic Center: Located at INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation at Southwest Medical Center, the Aquatic Center takes advantage of the properties of water to enhance physical therapy treatments to help with walking and balance. The water can also improve upper body range of motion and strength. Often times individuals are able to identify and see movements in the water before they see them on land. The activities worked on in the water are carried over into land therapy.
• Bioness® H200: A wireless device that uses electrical stimulation to improve hand function and strength. It can allow individuals with limited hand strength to grasp, hold, and release things such as a cup, razor, or key.
• Bioness® Integrated Therapy System: A computer system that can be used while sitting or standing to help incorporate balance, coordination, as well as memory and reaction time. There are many different games and activities that can be individualized for each patient and their goals.
• Bioness® L300 Plus: A device that can be worn on the upper and/or lower leg. It uses electrical stimulation to activate leg muscles during walking or standing.
• Galileo® Whole Body Vibration System: An alternating vibration system that can be used while sitting or standing. The alternating vibration helps to mimic the movements of the pelvis during walking and can be used for decreasing spasticity, increasing balance, increasing strength and increasing circulation.
• Vital Stim®: A system that delivers external electrical stimulation therapy to the throat muscles for the treatment of dysphagia (trouble swallowing).

At INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation, we feel that your recovery hinges on the support you get before and after you leave our care, so we have services for you as well as your family and caregivers. Below are some ways we connect:

• Community Outings: Getting around in the community can be intimidating, but we schedule regular community outings for those in inpatient programs to help you get comfortable with it before you’re officially discharged.
• Family Conference: There’s a lot for families to understand, so we like to get everyone in the same room to discuss any personal or family concerns.
• Home Evaluation: We’re here to provide assistance and recommendations for possible home modifications.
• Peer Mentor Program: People who have lived through a similar diagnosis or injury as the one you are experiencing are often the best resource. Many of our former Jim Thorpe “graduates” return on a regular basis to talk to and encourage patients who are just starting their own rehabilitation journey.
• Caregiver Support Group: We don’t just focus on the patient, but the caregivers as well. In many ways, their life has been just as impacted. We offer continual support and resources for them as well.
• Survivor Support Group: We never forget about our graduates. We’ll make sure you have the support and resources you need after you hospital stay.

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, known as CARF, is the accrediting body for inpatient rehabilitation programs. INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation is one of only three inpatient rehabilitation facilities in Oklahoma accredited for its stroke specialty program.

This type of accreditation is granted only to organizations that show substantial fulfillment of the standards established by CARF. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated that its programs and services are of the highest quality.
