Heart Transplant Criteria List
Potential recipients of heart transplants at the INTEGRIS Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute must meet the following heart transplant criteria to join the heart transplant list. Criteria for a heart transplant include:
- EF (ejection fraction) < 25%
- Inability to walk 1 block without getting shortness of breath
- 1 or more hospital admission in the last 6 months for heart failure exacerbation
- Increasing amounts of diuretics
- Frequent defibrillator shocks
- Intolerant to heart failure medicine
