Individualized Approach to Healing Chronic Wounds

While many chronic wounds like diabetic ulcers, pressure sores and large open wounds are obvious, chronic wounds can also start small. Even a small puncture wound on the bottom of the foot can become a chronic wound that doesn’t heal, worsens and becomes infected.

Patients with chronic wounds usually have underlying health issues that are causing their wounds to not heal properly like diabetes, circulation problems or previous radiation treatment.

We treat the whole person, not just the wound. Our team considers psychological, social and physical factors as well as other health issues to develop the best treatment plan for each patient.

We work closely with the patient’s primary care provider or referring physician to ensure the best possible outcome.

Educating the patient is a key step in the healthcare process. We make sure our patients understand the treatment plan and we educate them on how to care for the injury to enhance the healing process. We also teach our patients about the importance of wound prevention, good nutrition and hygiene to aid the healing process.
