Volunteering at INTEGRIS Grove Hospital: Volunteers Giving Back for Nearly 60 Years

Since 1964, the INTEGRIS Grove Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary (formerly known as Cherry Reds) has provided volunteer services to INTEGRIS Grove Hospital.

A host of volunteer opportunities are available throughout the hospital that include delivering flowers, working in the gift shop, assisting at the information desk, sorting and delivering mail throughout the hospital, and assisting patients, family members and visitors. There are also volunteer opportunities in several departments including surgery, women’s health, Access, radiology and other areas as needed.

Through the years, the volunteers at INTEGRIS Grove Hospital have raised and donated more than $350,000 for hospital equipment and scholarships for caregivers, but it’s the warm smile and love offered to patients, visitors, caregivers and physicians that have the greatest impact.

A typical work week for a volunteer is a four-hour shift in the morning or afternoon once a week, but schedules can be adjusted if needed.

Become a Volunteer Today

Over the past two decades we have seen a growing body of research that indicates volunteering provides individual health benefits in addition to social ones. This research, which is presented by CNCS (Corporation for National and Community Service), in a report titled "The Health Benefits of Volunteering..." has established a strong relationship between volunteering and health. Those who volunteer have lower mortality rates, greater functional ability, and lower rates of depression later in life than those who do not volunteer. But don't take our word for it... join us and see for yourself!
