John P. Duffy, M.D., is a Hepatobiliary and Abdominal Transplant Surgeon at the Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Dr. Duffy joined the NZTI team in 2010 and performs adult and pediatric liver transplant procedures, split liver transplants, and hepatobiliary – pancreatic surgery. He is also extensively trained in adult and pediatric intestinal and multivisceral transplantation. He joined the NZTI team after serving from 2008-2010 as Assistant Professor of Surgery for the Dumont – UCLA Center for Liver and Pancreas Transplantation in Los Angeles, California. There, he performed adult and pediatric liver transplants, and adult and pediatric intestinal and multivisceral transplants.
Dr. Duffy is a native Oklahoman. He was born in Oklahoma City and graduated from Putnam City North High School. He earned a B.A. in English from the University of Oklahoma with special distinction. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree with special distinction from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed his residency training in general surgery from 1999-2006 at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center, and is certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Duffy then trained in liver and multi-organ transplantation at UCLA from 2006-2008, under the guidance of Ronald W. Busuttil, M.D., Ph.D, and Douglas G. Farmer, M.D.
Interests include technical aspects of adult and pediatric liver transplantation, split liver transplantation, staging and treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma, and hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery.
