Brian Herritt, M.D., was born in Oklahoma City. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. He continued on to medical school at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Herritt completed his residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. After completing residency, he chose to do a fellowship in bariatric surgery at the University of Missouri. In Dr. Herritt’s time in residency, he was exposed to a large array of surgical specialties but had a particular affinity for surgical weight loss and decided to complete additional training in bariatric surgery.
“The positive influence of surgical weight loss on a patient's life is tremendous. My intention in medicine has always been to positively impact the lives of my patients. I think there is no better way to do that than with surgical weight loss."
Dr. Herritt recently moved back to Oklahoma City with his soon-to-be wife and their dog. He loves being outside whether it is fishing or hiking and he enjoys OU football.
