Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) physician

Our palliative medicine program is designed to cross the continuum of care to support patients of all ages with serious illness and chronic disease. Expanding our medical team supports our goals to improve quality of life and transform the experience of illness by reducing symptom burden and psychosocial distress. Our program meets patients across the healthcare spectrum providing inpatient palliative consults, home based palliative consults, and hospice care in the home and hospice inpatient center.

Reporting to the INTEGRIS Health Hospice and Palliative Care Program Director and Hospice and Palliative Medical Director, this physician will join a team of nurse practitioners, RN coordinator and social worker within INTEGRIS hospitals. Patients often transition between inpatient and our home team, who is also supported by social work and chaplaincy services. Duties will include consulting with attending physicians and the interdisciplinary team to establish a written plan of care and facilitate access to appropriate supportive care services. Sharing supervision of APRN’s with other MD’s. In addition, the physician will participate weekly in the interdisciplinary team meetings to review active cases and documentation.

INTEGRIS Health Hospice has been well established in the OKC community for over 30 years and operates a freestanding 12 bed inpatient Hospice House for the past 10 years. The HPM physician will rotate call coverage with the palliative care team and hospice team.
